Faux Mink Lashes vs Real Mink Lashes

Have you ever wondered how to choose between faux mink lashes and real mink lashes? Which is better for lash extensions? Are these lashes both safe for your clients? Look no further because you have arrived at the answer and we are going to break it all down for you.

Before we dive in, here’s the 411 on the two types of lashes.

What Are Real Mink Lashes?

Real mink lashes are exactly that - real mink animal hair made into lash extensions. You might also see real mink lashes labeled as mink fur lashes or Siberian mink lashes. These lashes are soft, lightweight, and closely resemble human hair.

What Are Faux Mink Lashes?

Faux mink lashes are cruelty-free eyelash extensions that mimic the look and feel of real mink material. Here at Paris Lash Academy, our lashes are made from top quality Korean Hair Fibers, or Korean PBT, that are micro laser cut.

Which is Better: Faux Mink or Real Mink Lashes?

Many lash artists, and even some potential clients, ask whether minks are killed or harmed in any way for these extensions. Although some companies will market their real mink lashes as “cruelty-free”, most of the time this is not the case. On top of this, it is very rare to find real mink lashes for a few reasons. First, many clients have allergic reactions to animal fur, so fur near the eyes is a definite no-no. Second, real mink hair cannot hold a curl, so you won’t find a great variety of curls in real mink extensions.

When you consider the cost of harming animals just for the sake of personal beauty, cruelty-free faux mink lashes are the clear winner in our opinion. Aside from being vegan, faux mink lashes also hold their curls better and are also better for clients with allergy problems.

Why Buy Cruelty-Free Mink Lashes At Paris Lash Academy?

Our cruelty-free mink lashes have been selected from many lines of Korean PBT hair fibers, all jet-black and slightly matte. If you purchase from PLA, you can be assured that all products, including our lashes, adhesive, and everything else, are 100% vegan and cruelty- free. This means that no animal byproducts are used as ingredients and our products are never tested on animals.

What Are The Different Types of Faux Mink Lashes?

There are different types of faux mink lashes depending on the style and lash effect you are going for. It’s up to you as the lash artist to decide on the curl, length, and style that will best suit your client. It’s important for you to carry a variety of lengths, weights, and densities to ensure that you can offer your client a beautiful set while maintaining the health of their lashes.

The most popular styles we carry are the classic and volume eyelash extension trays. These come in a wide range of sizes, densities, lengths, and curls so you can apply a perfect set for each unique client.

When you shop with PLA, you get to choose from more lengths and curls than you could even imagine. With thicknesses from 0.03-0.2 and lengths from 6mm-18mm, we have it all. Plus, our curl options range from C all the way to LL. We also carry flat lash trays and colored or ombre eyelash extension trays. This will allow you to add some color to your clients or match their hair and brow colors.

How Long Do Faux Mink Lashes Last?

When investing in your extensions, it’s important to understand how long faux mink lashes last. This will depend on your client’s natural lash shedding cycle. On average, you can expect at least three to four weeks of beautiful wear out of our cruelty-free mink lashes. However, we encourage you to have your clients return every two to three weeks for their lash fills to maintain a dense, full look.
