Born and raised on a coffee farm in Vietnam, Michelle has always understood the value of opportunity and community. Her manufacturing operations allow her to give back to the country she calls home while creating alternatives to demanding agricultural work for women and their families.

For more than 14 years, Michelle has dedicated herself to the study and practice of eyelash artistry, approaching lashing as a discipline rooted in precision, technique, product performance, and eyelash science. When she couldn’t find products that met her exacting standards, she created her own—developing and sourcing professional-grade tools and supplies designed with the needs of beauty professionals in mind.

Today, PLA products are available across four continents, bringing professional-quality products, education, and expertise to beauty artists around the world. What began with one self-taught lash artist has grown into a global community built on quality, innovation, education, and a commitment to raising the standard of beauty.

Meet Michelle Nguyen

In 2008, Michelle Nguyen entered the beauty industry as a self-taught lash artist, determined to build something of her own. After six years of owning and operating her salon in Reno, Nevada, she sold the business to pursue a larger vision: Paris Lash Academy (now known as PLA Pro), a platform built to share her expertise and empower lash artists around the world.

What began as one artist’s pursuit of excellence has grown into a global beauty brand. Today, PLA Pro’s Reno headquarters is home to more than 50 employees, while Michelle’s manufacturing operations in Vietnam create meaningful employment for more than 700 women.

Meet Michelle Nguyen

Coming to the scene as a self-taught lash artist in 2008, Michelle Nguyen knew how difficult it could be to truly break into the beauty industry. After running her salon for 6 years in Reno, Michelle ultimately decided to sell it to focus on Paris Lash Academy, or PLA — a way to share her vast lashing experience with lash artists all around the world. Today PLA employee over 50 employees at the PLA headquarters in Reno. She is proud to own multiple lash manufacturers in Vietnam, where she was born and raised on a coffee farm. These manufacturers allow Michelle to give back to her community, providing jobs for over 700 women who would otherwise be working in harsh farming environments.

For the last fourteen years Michelle has practiced and studied eyelash science. Calling it a science may seem simplistic, but by studying the discipline and knowledge associated with eyelash care, Michelle has been able to elevate her expertise, bringing lashing to a new and higher level.
